When are you allowed to cross a double solid line?
Explanation
As a rule you may not cross solid lines. There is one exception: you may cross to get around a stationary obstacle, such as a fallen tree or a crashed car, when you simply cannot continue in your lane. Do it only once you are sure it is safe and you are not obstructing other road users.
