At what distance from a stopped vehicle outside a built-up area must the warning triangle be placed?
Explanation
How far back you set the warning triangle depends on where you are. Outside built-up areas, where speeds are higher, it must be further away so other drivers have enough time to react. The rules require it to be no less than 50 metres.
KET reference: KET 92: the driver of a motor vehicle must place the warning triangle no closer than 50 m from the stopped vehicle outside built-up areas.
