A road-maintenance vehicle with its amber beacon on is cleaning the pavement. Is it allowed to do this?
Explanation
A vehicle running an amber beacon while carrying out road or environmental maintenance may drive and work in pedestrian areas. It is not a free pass, though: this is only allowed under an agreement with the road owner and on the terms that owner sets.
KET reference: KET 188¹: when carrying out road-infrastructure or environment maintenance work on a contractual basis under the conditions set by the road owner, a vehicle with its amber beacon on may drive on the pavement and the pedestrian or cycle path.
