Traffic order and driving through intersectionsQuestion #16427
In what case must a driver let one vehicle merge into the lane they are in?
Explanation
This is the so-called zip-merge rule. If, on a road with two or more lanes in the same direction, traffic in one of them is blocked and a queue has formed, every driver in the next lane must let one vehicle from that queue merge into their lane.
KET reference: KET 105: if traffic in the adjacent lane is blocked and a queue has formed, every driver must let one vehicle merge in.
